Welcome! After several years of running fiction contests, we decided to try something a little different. Our aim has always been to use the site to encourage people to write, particularly in the fandoms we love. While the contests were successful in providing a forum for writers - including new writers - to share their work, we feel the time is right to change the environment to something a little less competitive. This idea grew into the Festival of Fanfiction. We invite writers to submit their work for inclusion in our archive to share with others and get feedback. They can even amend and improve them if they wish. Authors and readers can also issue challenges at the site to inspire new writing, tips and ideas to boost creativity and provide an opportunity for everyone to develop their skills. As always, the theme is redheads. (There is a hairdye clause, so if your favourite series is devoid of redheads you can always put that right!) See the info section for more details. Readers and reviewers play a vital role. You can join the archive as a reader whether or not you wish to post your own stories, and can even volunteer to be a beta-reader or post your own challenges for writers to try. See the info section for more details. And don't forget you can sign up to our message list and check out our livejournal for updates. Our aim for The Seeing Red Festival of Fanfiction is to promote and encourage writers and to feed readers. We hope you find our latest venture stimulating and, above all, fun! Write! Read! Review!... and Enjoy. :) |
